Browning Grass

Here are a few photos updating you on the lovely growing necklace.  It's still lively and green but there are a few dried shoots.  I gave it a little trim where it had started to brown at the tips and it seems to have grown a little more.

I just got back from a mini vacation with my family and I have another update for you.  The necklace is growing out of control. It's so lovely and wild!  Every time I go out wearing the necklace people walk over to ask what it is, take a closer look, and of course touch it to see if the grass is real.  The grass pod fits snug as a bug so it has not slipped out and I never feel any moisture even wearing it directly after watering.  It is perfectly designed.  While I was in southern California I made sure to take plenty of photos of my family wearing this beautiful necklace.

Just a few days later and this necklace has really flourished!  So beautiful and lush I was shocked at how quickly the shoots popped out almost over night.  I've been watering twice a day since I've been out in the heat quite a bit and  I think this jewelry piece loves the sun as much as I do.

The first shoot of grass has sprung! It has been less than a week of watering and I wore it out in the sun all day. So excited to see this jewelry piece grow.

I am honored to be the first USA participant for this lovely growing jewelry project started by Clare Poppi.  She is an Australian artist who designed this lovely silver necklace that will sprout blades of grass.  I received this necklace on Earth Day and immediately began to care for my new growing jewelry piece.  I will be documenting the growth and reporting back to Clare  so that she can blog about her growing designs.  It is such a fun project to be apart of and it is great to support other RAW artists.
